Christmas Ranking: Postecoglou at 10 – A Hoops Fan's Perspective
Hey everyone! So, Christmas is almost here, and what better way to celebrate than with a totally subjective, totally biased ranking of the best things to happen in Scottish football this year? I'm a massive Celtic fan, always have been, so this list is, let's be honest, gonna be a little… green. But hey, I'm owning it!
Ange Postecoglou: My Number 10 (But Honestly, Top 3 Easily)
Okay, so Ange Postecoglou is at number ten on my overall Christmas ranking, but lemme tell you, this man is easily in my top three. Seriously. Last year at this time? Man, we were down. Rangers were miles ahead; the team was a mess. I was ready to sell all my Celtic merch and take up knitting, honestly. I spent so much time on forums and sites like WhoScored it was ridiculous. I needed to look at the numbers and get some perspective.
Remember all that doom and gloom? Yeah, me neither. Because Ange came in and changed everything. He brought this incredible energy, a relentless attacking style, and an absolute belief in the players. It was like watching a whole new team being born before our eyes. And my, what a beautiful baby it was.
He completely revamped our tactics. Gone was the sometimes-cautious approach; in came high pressing and a dazzling display of attacking football. It was breathtaking at times. The stats don't lie: we scored a ton of goals, played beautiful football and our passing accuracy was through the roof.
My personal highlight? The comeback wins. Man, the number of times we were down and fought back – it was inspiring. It gave everyone hope that even when the game seemed lost we could still come out on top. The matches were often full of drama, and you just never knew who would come up with the winning moment; we had tons of goalscorers this season.
Now, obviously, ten isn't the best ranking. But this list was looking at everything that happened, not just football! Still, I'm so incredibly grateful for everything Ange has brought to Celtic. He’s turned things around beyond belief. That's why he’s so high on my list. And believe me, he deserves a far higher ranking than 10 on my personal list.
Beyond Ange: Looking at the Bigger Picture
Putting Postecoglou at number 10 highlights how amazing the year has been. It wasn't just the football; there were other amazing things that happened too. But the resurgence under Ange was pivotal. It completely changed the narrative and the feeling around the club. He's revitalized everything, and for a long-suffering fan like me, that's priceless. That's worth more than any number in the world.
So yeah, this is my Christmas list. It's biased, it's subjective, but it's totally from the heart. And if you're a fellow Celtic fan, I hope you agree! What are your top moments from this year? Let me know in the comments below!
