RIIZE's Anton on Seunghan's Leave: A Member's Perspective
Hey everyone, so, RIIZE, right? Crazy talented group, amazing debut… but then bam – Seunghan's departure. It was a total shock, even to us. I mean, we were all so close, like a family, you know? And suddenly, one of us is gone. It sucked. Seriously sucked.
This whole thing hit me harder than I thought it would. I’ll be honest, I kinda went MIA for a few days. Didn't want to talk to anyone. Just needed some time to process everything. I know what you're thinking: Should I, as a member of the band, be able to handle this better? To be honest, I still haven't completely processed it all. Sometimes, even now, I still catch myself just… stopping.
The Initial Shock and the Importance of Internal Support
Remember when I said we were like a family? That's no exaggeration. We spent so much time together, practicing, recording, just hanging out. So, when Seunghan left, it felt like a piece of our family was missing. The initial days were tough. We leaned on each other heavily. We had several team meetings and individual sessions with our agency’s therapist to help us work through it. That support system was essential. It's crucial to have that – especially in a high-pressure environment like K-Pop. Seriously, you need it, both personally and professionally. Don't try to go it alone. Talk to people.
The agency also gave us resources for emotional support, which I was initially hesitant to take advantage of but was so glad that I did. The amount of support available to our group from the company is invaluable and has helped us overcome tough moments in our careers. This helped us manage the situation while also providing coping mechanisms for future challenges. You need that strong foundation to fall back on.
Navigating the Public Reaction: It's a Rollercoaster
Then came the public reaction. Wow. The internet, man… it’s a wild place. There was support, definitely, but also… a lot of speculation. Some fans were understanding, others were angry, some were confused. We tried to address concerns as best we could. Honestly, it felt a little like navigating a minefield.
We, as a group, made a conscious decision to not speculate on the reasons for Seunghan’s leave. It was important for us to respect his privacy. We also had some frank discussions about how we wanted to communicate about this sensitive issue. We made a concerted effort to address questions professionally and respectfully while expressing our own sadness at his absence.
Learning from the Experience: The Value of Open Communication
What did I learn? Loads, actually. First, communication is key. Within the group, being open about our feelings was crucial for our mental health and how we dealt with the matter. Secondly, being transparent with fans as much as we could. While it wasn't easy, it fostered a sense of understanding and respect, even if opinions varied wildly.
Finally, and this is huge: self-care isn't selfish. It's absolutely essential, especially when dealing with something as emotionally taxing as this. The mental health of every member is important for the successful continuation of the group. Take the time you need. Don't push yourself too hard. You will regret it. Prioritize your well-being. Seriously.
Seunghan’s departure was a challenging experience, but it also reinforced the importance of unity, support, and open communication within RIIZE and with our fans. We’ve learned a lot and continue to learn. We're moving forward, together, honoring Seunghan’s memory and time with RIIZE, and focusing on our future, remembering the lessons learned along the way.
